Embroidery got me into sewing, but I wanted to make bigger and more complex pieces that I could actually use and wear.
SEWING
I began sewing, making simple dresses (far left) and working up to more complicated and intricate designs (far right); this is a sampling of the many pieces that I have made.
I drafted all my own patterns using a dress form and used a combination of hand and machine sewing and embroidery.
While most of my learning was based on trial and error, I used books and other resources to teach myself specific skills (like boning and french seams).
